In Israel inhaftierte pro-palästinensische
gebracht. Die Armeesprecherin Avital
Leibovitch beschränkte sich darauf zu
bestreiten, dass die Soldaten gegen
die Aktivisten "Gewalt" angewendet hätten.

This summer, the
intensified blockade of the Palestinian
people of the Gaza Strip has continued
into its sixth year.
The blockade—referred to as "the
siege" by its victims—is a violation
of international law and of the
fundamental human rights of the
civilian population in Gaza. The
blockade has devastating humanitarian
consequences for more than 1.6 million
people, most of them children, on
this coastal strip between the Mediterranean
Sea and the Negev desert.
The blockade is illegal,
inhumane and—from Israel´s point
of view—counterproductive; it neither
stops weapons from being smuggled
into the Strip or missiles from
being fired, nor has it put Hamas
out of power. On the contrary.
The documentation
of the blockade´s inhumanity and
failure to generate anything but
violence and despair, is mounting.
”End the blockade on Gaza now”,
50 humanitarian organizations and
UN agencies urged in an exceptionally
frank statement in June. In addition,
a UN report issued in August concluded
that Gaza won’t be livable by 2020
if urgent action is not taken.
The blockade makes
it impossible to properly rebuild
the hospitals, homes and water treatment
plants
that were all destroyed in the massive
bombing of Gaza in the winter of
2008/2009. The export ban prevents
Gaza’s residents from earning a
living and is an important factor
behind the almost total dependency
on aid. The “tunnel economy”, which
is one of the consequences of the
blockade, nurtures criminality and
undermines any legitimate economy.
Family members who
live in Gaza and the West Bank are
denied the right to visit each other.
Young people are denied access to
higher education at Palestinian
universities in Jerusalem and the
West Bank. Fishermen are forbidden
to fish outside of three nautical
miles from the coast.
Throughout history,
the Mediterranean Sea has provided
a link between people and cultures.
However, for the Palestinians in
Gaza the sea constitutes a wall,
just like the ones that separate
them from Israel, Egypt and other
parts of Palestine.
The blockade is a
clear impediment to a sustainable
and just peace. However, it is evident
that our politicians have fallen
short when it comes to adhering
to declarations on human rights
and international law. It is now
time for civil action.
Civil action is what
the Ship to Gaza/Freedom Flotilla
is offering. The S/V Estelle has
been sailing since the beginning
of the summer. Gaza is her destination;
ending the siege is her goal. We,
the undersigned, express our support
for non-violent actions of solidarity
like the Ship to Gaza/Freedom Flotilla,
an initiative in which some of us
are participating as passengers
and others as committed sympathizers
on land.
Our message is
simple:
Palestinians are
humans with human rights! End the
siege! Let the people go!
Swedish Ship to Gaza - Activists
in Israel -
Press Release Oct. 22, 2012 - The
Israeli activists detained on board
the "Estelle" were released - Elik
Elhanan: excessive force was used
against us, without any reason -
Electric shocks by taser out of
vengeful hatred A Greek MP was
beaten by Shabak Security Service
interrogators
"I am now on my way home, but I keep
thinking of my shipmates, my fellow
activists from abroad who are still
imprisoned under harsh conditions
and undergo interrogation by the
Shabak Security Service, among them
Parliament Members from several
countries," said Elik Elhanan, one
of the Israeli activists who had
sailed aboard the Gaza-bound Swedish
ship "Estelle". Today, the court
ordered his release and that of two
other detained Israelis, Yonatan
Shapira and Reut Mor. "At first they
tried to charge us with all kinds of
very serious felonies, such as 'aiding
the enemy'. The court rejected this
out of hand. Today they tried a
article on the law books called "Attempted
infiltration into a part of the Land
of Israel which is not part of the
State of Israel" (sic). But the
court threw out this charge, too".
The detained activists were
represented by Attorney Gaby Lasky
and her team, who have considerable
experience with Human Rights cases.
The released detainees were
cheerfully greeted by peace
activists who arrived at the
courtroom, among them Elik Elhanan's
parents - Rami Elhanan and Nurit
Peled-Elhanan, who is the daughter
of the late Major General Matti
Peled. Smadar Elhanan, Elik's sister,
was killed in a suicide bombing at
the center of Jerusalem – a harsh
experience which made surviving
family members all the more
determined to strive for peace
between Israel and the Palestinians,
so as to prevent further casualties
on either side.
"I have gone though difficult days,
but I certainly do not regret
sailing on that boat. I knew what I
was getting into" said Elik Elhanan.
"During the voyage I made a special
contact with Evangelis, a Member of
the Greek Parliament who sailed with
us. When the Naval Commandos came
aboard and while we were blocking
their way to the bridge, Evangelis
told me we have generated in him a
love for the people of Israel and a
hope for a better future in the
Middle East. Shortly afterwards they
separated us. Yesterday evening,
when they put Dror Feiler in our
cell, he told us that Evangelis had
been beaten by the Shabak
interrogators. The Shabak lied
shamelessly to the Consuls and
representatives of foreign countries,
telling them that their citizens and
MPs were being treated well." Dror
Feiler, who was born in Israel and
whose mother Pnina lives in Kibbutz
Yad Hana, gave up his Israeli
citizenship after moving to
Stockholm, and was therefore
separated most of the time from the
Israeli detainees.
"They used a completely
disproportional amount of force
against us" continues Elhanan. "When
the Navy arrived to take us over,
Yonatan Shapira counted no less than
fifteen vessels surrounding us on
all sides. Large and small ships and
boats, a ship carrying a helicopter,
as well as the Zodiacs of the Naval
Commandos. Fifteen armed naval
vessels against one small civilian
boat carrying games for the children
of Gaza. We must have disturbed very
much the Navy and those who give
orders to the Navy.
When they came aboard and we blocked
their way, the soldiers knew exactly
who I was. They shouted in Hebrew: 'Elhanan,
you will pay for your Leftism!' and
used the taser to give me electric
shocks. Even after they completed
their takeover of the boat, they
continued to use the taser and
administer more shocks. But if they
think they could deter me and those
who sailed with me, they are
mistaken. The siege of Gaza is an
ongoing crime and it must be ended.
We will continue the struggle".

Chomsky
ruft zur Beendigung der Abriegelung
des Gazastreifens durch Israel auf -
19.10.2012
habe, was er bereits erwartet hatte.
Wie Al-Judari berichtet, überquerte
Comsky gemeinsam mit einem Dutzend Universitätsprofessoren
aus den USA, Großbritannien, Frankreich
und Kanada den Grenzübergang Rafah und
reiste in den Gazastreifen ein, um am
Samstag an einer internationalen Linguistik-Konferenz
teilzunehmen. Der
amerikanische Professor will am Samstag
eine Rede über die letzten Veränderungen
in den arabischen Ländern und in der
Außenpolitik des Mittleren Ostens halten
und wird sich auch mit Mitgliedern palästinensischer
Menschenrechtsorganisationen treffen.
Al-Judari berichtete weiter, Chomsky,
der ein bekannter Kritiker der US-Außenpolitik
ist, werde auch palästinensische Flüchtlingslager
besuchen.
Im Mai 2010 hatte die israelische Regierung
Chomsky die Einreise in das Westjordanland
verweigert, wo er eine Rede halten wollte.
Angesichts dieser Maßnahme verbreitete
er seine Rede über eine Videokonferenz
aus Jordanien. Quelle:

International concern for the crew
of the Estelle -
Release: International concern for
Jim Manly and the crew of the
Estelle for immediate release - The
Freedom Flotilla Coalition is
concerned about the treatment of the
Estelle crew by Israeli
authorities.The Estelle was attacked
by the IDF at 10AM local time on
Saturday. Eighteen hours later the
crew had still to meet consular
representatives or lawyers.
Circulating reports about the use of
force and tasers during the attack
on the Estelle increase our worries
about the well-being of the crew
members. The Freedom Flotilla
Coalition is also concerned about
reports that Israeli crew members
were transferred to Ashkelon prison
and will face persecution. “Despite
the confirmed deportation of some of
the crew members (from Greece and
Italy) we are deeply concerned about
the continuing detention of the
others, including Jim Manly,” said
Ehab Lotayef, noting Manly is a
former Canadian MP (1980-88) and
retired United Church Minister. “We
call on all governments to increase
pressure on the Israeli government
to ensure the Estelle crew are
treated with dignity, that their
rights as non-violent protesters be
respected and that they all be
released immediately,” said Lotayef.

20.10.2012 Aktuelle Meldung:
Israelisches Militär hat in
internationalen Gewässern die
Estelle geentert. Jonas Sjöstedt,
der auf der Estelle ist sagte: Es
ist sehr bedauerlich, dass Israel
Estelle gestoppt hat. Das Schiff war
beladen mit Dingen, die in Gaza
fehlen, Rollstühle, Geburtshilfe
Werkzeuge und Fußbälle. Die
israelische Blockade Gazas verstößt
gegen internationales Recht und
bedeutet, dass ein ganzes Volk
bestraft wird. Estelle Ziel war es,
gewaltlos die ungerechte
Blockade zu brechen. Anstatt
Verständnis zu zeigen, wurden sie
von der israelischen Armee
gekidnappt. Es muss verurteilt
werden. sagt Jonas Sjöstedt.

Unterwegs für
Palästina
- Das
Segelschiff Estelle, ein Projekt der Freedom
Flotilla Coalition [FCC] gegen die israelische
Blockade Gazas, wird am Wochenende Gazas Küste
erreichen. Die Estelle hat Aktivisten aus acht
Ländern an Bord, darunter Parlamentarier aus
Griechenlanad (Vangelis Diamandopoulos),
Norwegen (Aksel Hagen), Spanien (Ricardo Sixto
Iglesias) Schweden (Sven Britton) und Kanada
(Jim Manly, Parlamentsabgeordneter von 1980 bis
1988). Auf der vor einigen Wochen in
Skandinavien begonnenen Reise ins Mittelmeer
legte das Segelschiff in zahlreichen
europäischen Häfen an, um über die illegal
kollektive Bestrafung der Bewohner Gazas durch
Israels Blockade zu informieren. Am
“Miles of Smiles 16” erreicht Gaza
-
Der "Milesof Smiles16"
Solidaritätskonvoi erreichte den Gazastreifen am
29. September 2012 mit dringend benötigten
medizinischen Hilfsgütern für den besetzten
Küstenstreifen. Alle 38 Konvoimitglieder aus
Ägypten, Jordanien, Libanon, Bahrain und
Südafrika wurde am Grenzposten Rafah zwischen
Gaza und Ägypten die Einreise gestattet. Die
Hilfsgüter im Wert von einer Million US-Dollar
wurden in Ägytpen gekauft. Ahmad Al-Kurd,
ehemaliger Minister für Arbeit und Soziales in
Gaza, charakterisierte den Konvoi als klares
Zeichen, dass die arabischen Völker und
internationale Aktivisten weiterhin Israels
leiden. Alle Miles of Smiles Konvois konnten
trotz wiederholter Verzögerungen über Ägypten in
den Gazastreifen einreisen. Der erste Miles of
Smiles Konvoi erreichte Gaza im November 2009,
nach einer 25-tägigen Wartezeit auf der
ägyptischen Seite der Grenze.

Schiffe von und nach Gaza -
Valeria Apara Hizmeri/El Ciudadano, Chile -
Im Gazastreifen
wird gerade ein Schiff hergerichtet, das die
Seeblockade durchbrechen soll, die Israel in der
Zone verhängt hat. Die Fahrt dieses Schiffes ist
eine ergänzende Aktion zur 3. Flotille der
Freiheit, die zur Zeit in Richtung Gazastreifen
unterwegs ist.
In diesem Jahr wird die 3.
Flottille der Freiheit in beide Richtungen
gehen.
Richtung.
Es ist beabsichtigt, die Blockade
von innen zu durchbrechen. Israel erlaubt nur
eine begrenzte Fischereizone. Drei Seemeilen ist
das Maximum, was die Arbeit der Fischer
erschwert.
Boat to Gaza, David Heap.
Der Zielhafen der Arche steht
noch nicht fest. "Aus verständlichen
Sicherheitsgründen können wir zu diesem
Zeitpunkt noch keinen Zielhafen konkret
benennen", sagt Heap.
Gaza Australia, Canadian Boat to Gaza und
einzelnen US-Amerikanern vom
Organisationskomitee des US-Boat to Gaza rechnen
können wird.
Diese Organisationen wollen auf
die üble Behandlung der Fischer, die versuchen,
über diese 3 Seemeilen hinaus zu gelangen,
aufmerksam machen. Seit dem Oslo-Abkommen 1994
zwischen den Israelis und den Palästinensern
wurde (die Fischereizone, Ü.) auf 3 Seemeilen
reduziert (..:). "Seit 2010 hat die israelische
Marine 66 Fischer einschließlich 7 Kinder
festgenommen. Außerdem haben sie 113 an die
Küste zurückgeschickt und 11 verletzt", besagt
der Bericht Gaza victims of fife-years closure
of Gaza: Fishermen von der
Menschenrechtsorganisation Al-Mezan.
Nach dem News Centre der
Vereinten Nationen besteht das große Problem
darin, dass 40% der Bewohner des Gazastreifens
heute unter der Armutsgrenze leben, etwa 80%
erhalten eine Subsistenzhilfe, wobei die
Fischerei eine der am meisten betroffenen
Bereiche ist. 2010 erreichte die Armutsrate bei
Fischern 90%, eine dramatische Zunahme seit
2008, als sie nur 50% betrug.
Die Arche will nicht nur die
Blockade der (von Israel auf 3 Seemeilen
begrenzten, Ü.) Fischereizone durchbrechen,
sondern auch die palästinensische Ausfuhr von
Waren anregen.
